Senior Vice President Technology

Everspring stands at the forefront of education technology and service solutions, drivinginnovation and excellence in the sector. We're seeking a dynamic and visionary Senior VicePresident of Technology to elevate Everspring's technological capabilities. This role will serveas a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CTO, offering critical oversight to ourengineering and QA teams, while being accountable for developing, implementing, andmaintaining other key functions within Everspring's Technology domain. The Senior VicePresident of Technology will oversee the design, development and implementation of CloudInfrastructure, DevOps, Support Processes, and Security Programs, ensuring they align with ourstrategic vision and operational excellence. Furthermore, they will leverage their extensivesoftware delivery expertise to steer our Product Development processes towards innovative andhigh-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate has a multi-functional background in Information Technology, inspirationalleadership abilities, and the technical know-how to roll up their sleeves in a fast-pacedenvironment. We're looking for someone that understands enterprise platforms but can alsoembrace and push forward solutions built on emerging technologies. This position will report to the Chief Technology Office and is located in downtown Chicago, IL.We operate on a hybrid schedule where office presence is required at least two days per week.

Responsibilities:
  • In partnership with the CTO of Technology, provide thought leadership to drive strategyand innovation across the organization.
  • Engage with business leaders and clients to understand needs and translate intotechnology driven solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner tostakeholders at all levels of the organization for highly technical and non-technicalaudiences.
  • Oversee and manage the team responsible for Everspring's cloud infrastructure andserve as the key Architect to drive solutions based on cost, security, and efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to Everspring's security team who maintains systems,processes and policies
  • Partner with the Analytics team to build a robust data architecture to quickly drive moreintelligent business decisions across the organization.
  • Lead and execute generative AI initiatives, driving innovation and aligning with corporategoals. Oversee teams to develop AI-enhanced products for internal and externalstakeholders.
  • Spearhead the development and launch of new software products and solutions,ensuring they meet market needs and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage the DevOps function within the technology team, working closely with thedevelopment manager to introduce new cloud-based tools and systems to efficientlydeploy, monitor, and test applications.
  • Conduct resource planning and work prioritization in an Agile fashion, responding tostakeholder needs.
  • Manage Everspring's technology support functions for both internal employees andexternal customers; Streamline existing processes, introduce new tools, and workclosely with the support team to maximize efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Align infrastructure, security, development, and support objectives and programs tobusiness objectives & strategies.
  • Develop the annual Technology budget with the CTO and ensure actual results meet orexceed budget requirements and other key performance indicators.
  • Continue to drive excellence in a high-performing technology team, including recruiting,performance management and professional development.

    Requirements:

    This is an extraordinary opportunity for a Technology leader with 10+ years of experience,including 5+ years of progressive technology leadership, specifically managing productdevelopment, cloud infrastructure and high performing teams.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical degree
  • 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years of progressive technology leadership,

    specifically managing both software and hardware teams
  • Must be well-versed in Cloud platforms and Security Architecture, including

    microservices based solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in building and launching innovative SaaS products, with a

    history of driving growth, capturing market share, and delivering measurable impact in

    competitive industries.
  • Successful track record of security design/architecture reviews, code reviews, and

    penetration tests of large applications, systems and/or networks
  • Experience with enterprise applications (architecture, development, support, and

    troubleshooting)
  • Experience collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing,

    and operations, to understand customer needs and market trends, and translating them

    into actionable engineering solutions
  • Experience in data technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, etc.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter that gets excited about rolling up their sleeves and digging

    into the work
  • Proven track record of being able to inspire and influence the organization and partners

    to gain alignment and support for business plans

    Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configurationmanagement (Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, etc)
  • Experience with big data architectures and technologies such as Cassandra, Redis,Spark, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Agile practices such as SCRUM or KANBAN
  • Previous development experience
  • Familiarity with security policies and regulations such as ISO 27002, FERPA, or PCI
  • Cloud security and/or architecture related certifications - AWS Certified Solutions
