First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a VP & International Banking Team Leader to join the International Banking Department - Japan Division. In this role, you will manage a team of Commercial Banking Officers, Commercial Banking Associates, and Commercial Banking Service Representatives who manage portfolios of Commercial Banking customers. You will provide financial advice and counsel to the Bank's potential and existing business customers who have ties with Japan and are active in the state of Hawaii or Guam & CNMI region. You will sell the Bank's products and services which includes informing customers of benefits and features as well as actively refer customers to other area of the Bank such as Treasury Management Solutions, Business Services, Merchant Service Sales, Corporate Card, Wealth Management Group including Institutional Advisory Services and Private Banking Division, etc.

Compensation
The annual pay range for this role is $110k - $160k/year; commensurate with experience.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00PM; hours may vary.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, accounting, or equivalent work experience.
  • Master's degree in a business-related field
  • 5 years of experience in treasury management, commercial lending, or finance related experience with a focus on cultivating business relationships or equivalent
  • Must be native-level speaker in Japanese with an emphasis on formal business and honorific language, including reading and writing and experience composing professional-level correspondence and reports in English and Japanese
  • Must have experience with executive-level Japanese and American business etiquette, culture and practices
  • Must have an understanding of intermediate to advanced accounting
