Job Summary: The Vice President of Operations and People Engagement is a critical new leadership role that provides oversight, supervision, and mentorship to branch offices in Poplar Bluff, Cape Girardeau, and Hannibal Missouri. This position requires a high level of emotional intelligence to train/mentor leadership principles, resolve employee concerns, secure community connections and build solid relationships, analyze data to drive and implement operational corrections and initiatives for the organization's priorities. In addition, this position works collaboratively with all FAC's regional and programmatic leadership.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Strategic Leadership and Management
  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership to Branch Directors including aptitude to work across multiple offices and programs to ensure successful cross-coordination between all areas of agency functioning.
  • Responsible for employee satisfaction within SE and NE branch locations.
  • Conduct individual supervisory meetings with Branch Directors at least bi-monthly with the goal of providing continual support to enhance and build skill sets, guidance, and work product evaluation/feedback.
  • Complete timely probationary/annual employee evaluations.
  • Responsible for identifying the training needs and professional development needs of staff supervised.
  • Enhance internal communication channels with key focus on ongoing and effective communication connection between programming, development/marketing, and HR leadership staff.
  • Anticipate and identify potential areas of concern and implement action plans to resolve.
  • Foster communication with employees and resolve conflicts. Provide staff mediation when needed.
  • Participate in interviews for high impact agency positions.
  • Participate in talent acquisition in assigned areas by developing strategies to attract and hire top talent.
  • Participate in employee stay interviews and be a member of the retention committee. Analyze engagement metrics, report on progress, and create/implement action steps for enhanced employee engagement.
  • Create and successfully execute projects/solutions as identified from all points of received communication (i.e. data analysis, reports, etc.).
  • Analyze monthly program statistics. Create and implement action plans depending on results of examined data.
  • Maintain regular communication with key leadership, including weekly meetings with the COO and monthly meetings with the Advancement team.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.

Community Engagement
  • Build and nurture relationships with community leaders and agencies to leverage FAC's expertise and program experience for sustained growth.
  • Provide ongoing community needs analysis to inform and align agency priorities and funding.

Organizational Contribution
  • Foster a positive organizational culture focused on cultural competency and continuous improvement.
  • Champion performance improvement initiatives to enhance agency outcomes.
  • Collaborate on growth strategies that align with FAC's mission and operational goals.
  • Contribute to the organization's short- and long-term strategic and operational planning, with a focus on enhancing FosterAdopt Connect's (FAC) overall effectiveness in the communities served.
  • Model ethical and professional behavior at all times.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Master's Degree (or Bachelor's Degree plus seven years of experience working in non-profit social services agencies) in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related human services field with at least 5 years of experience providing senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with the child welfare systems in Missouri is strongly preferred.
  • Strong skill to intervene and resolve workforce dilemmas.
  • Strong skill to analyze complex data for decision-making and implementation, and reporting purposes.
  • Resourceful in setting priorities, developing well-defined strategies, and championing investments in people and systems to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with marginalized communities, with a nuanced understanding of systemic oppressions.
  • High ethical standards, with a track record of holding self and others accountable for high-quality, timely, and measurable results.
  • Effective at delivering constructive feedback and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to write clearly and persuasively.
  • Flexible and adaptable communication style, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders and organizations.
  • Action-oriented with the aptitude to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness and capability to travel regularly across Missouri, with a focus on Poplar Bluff, Cape Girardeau, and Hannibal. Willingness and capability to travel occasionally to other areas in Missouri and Kansas as directed by the COO.
